Get Ready To Watch The Secret Circle Online

From the creator of Dawson’s Creek and the executive producer, co-creator of The CW’s breakout hit Vampire Diaries, and the writer of the slasher franchise Scream, Kevin Williamson, comes another series that teenagers and young adults will be hooked on to: The Secret Circle. The series is based on the best selling trilogy of the same name by L.J. Smith, who also wrote The Vampire Diaries. The series of novels were first published in 1992, and it includes The Initiation, The Captive, and The Power. They were a huge hit and after 19 years, it will finally be brought to the small screen by The CW. You can watch The Secret Circle Online free on this site!

In October 28, 2010, L.J. Smith revealed that she has optioned the rights to The CW. After the network announced that they have picked the pilot, they brought in Williamson to spearhead the show, dropping his other project, the companion series for The Vampire Diaries, which will be put on hold for some time as he is busy working on the show. He worked on the original script penned by Andrew Miller, who is best known for his Emmy Award-winning web series Imaginary Bitches. They will both be sharing writing credits for the series. It will be produced by Alloy Entertainment, WBTV, and CBS TV Studios, which was also behind young adult shows like Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, and Privileged.

The Secret Circle will follow the story of Cassie, a seemingly normal teenage girl whose life suddenly changed after her mother died in what appears to be a tragic fire accident. Now an orphan, Cassie left her life in the city to live with her grandmother, Jane, to the quaint hometown of her mother, Chance harbor in Washington. Her mother left this beautiful town a few years ago. When Cassie arrived, she noticed that the residents have been waiting for her to step into the town and she feels like they know more about her than herself. After she went into her new high school, she met some of her schoolmates, which include the soft Diana and her good-looking boyfriend Adam, the quiet Nick, the school meanie Faye and her minion Melissa. But after she got to know them, strange and scary events soon occurred.

Her newly found friends then revealed to her that her ancestors were from a family of powerful witches, and they have been waiting for her for a longtime as destiny would have brought her back her in their hometown to complete the latest generation of a group of witches known as the Secret Circle. At first, Cassie did not believe everything that they have said, even after Adam helped her unlock her powers. She soon started to believe after she found in her mother’s childhood bedroom an old leather book filled with magical spells that she read a message written by her mother. She then begins to understand that she must fulfill her destiny and become part of the elite circle.

But lurking behind are evil forces that may soon spell trouble not just to her and her friends, but also on the whole town. Dark powers come into play with them and it may be linked to the adults in the town which includes Diana’s father and Faye’s mother. Cassie learns that that the death of her mother was not accidental and she senses that they have something to do with her mother’s demise. She tries to uncover the mysteries and secrets regarding her family and the people around the town. Also, Cassie and Adam soon become closer and closer. But Cassie must learn to stop her feelings and let their relationship go deeper so as not to be up against Adam’s girlfriend Diana, who is the leader of the Secret Circle.
The Secret Circle stars Britt Robertson as Cassie Blake. Robertson previously starred in the short-lived but critically-acclaimed Life Unexpected, has appeared in Scream 4. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Thomas Dekker will be playing Adam Conant, while his on-screen girlfriend Diana Meade will be played by 2004 Miss Teen USA and former Days of our Lives actress Shelley Hennig. Aussie Louise Hunter will play the brooding Nick Armstrong. Mean girl Faye Chamberlain will be played by Phoebe Tonkin, who starred in the Australian teen series H2O: Just Add Water and her sidekick Melissa Glaser will be played by Smallville’s Jessica Parker Kennedy. Diana’s father, Charles, will be portrayed by Gale Harold, who has appeared in shows like Desperate Housewives, Hellcats, and Queer as Folks. Model-turned-actress Natasha Henstridge will play Faye’s mother, Principal Dawn. Ashley Crow, who is best for appearing in Heroes, will play Cassie’s grandmother, Jane Blake. The pilot episode will be directed by Liz Friedlander, who has also directed on TV shows like One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, and 90210.
